Celebrating Bhogi with a simple authentic meal, mor kozhambu, Bholi, Paruppu Vadai & Baby Potato Roast, is not a special celebration though as kids exams are in full swing. I hope you are having a gr8 celebration, Sharing here the Pongal Kuzhambu recipe, save the recipe for tomorrow's Pongal festival(full video link in bio) 🙏
📝How to make Pongal Kuzhambu:
1️⃣Pressure cook 1/2 cup Toor dal with 1 cup of water for 3 whistles. Once cooked, Mash and keep aside.
2️⃣Take Mixed vegetables(nattu kai) like field beans(Mochai), raw banana, Broad Beans Sweet Potato (Sakarai valli kilangu), and tomato, add them into kadai, add 2 tbsp thick tamarind extract, cover and cook for 10 mins or till it becomes soft.
3️⃣Once the vegetables are cooked well add ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 & ½ tsp chili powder, 2 tsp coriander powder, and 1 tsp salt.
4️⃣Now add the cooked toor dal cover and cook for 7 mins.
5️⃣Meanwhile, make tadka, Heat a pan with 1 tbsp ghee or coconut oil, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, and ½ tsp urad dal. Hing, red chili, curry leaves once they splutter add them to kuzhambu.
That’s it Pongal Kuzhambu ready!
🔥Cooking time for each vegetable differs so cook the root vegetables first and then add the rest.
