Explore the wild beauty of Bui Hui Green Steppe 🌿🌿🌿
Bui Hui Steppe has endless green grass stretching as far as the eye can see, making it an ideal place for camping, cloud hunting, and sunset and sunrise viewing.
Located at an altitude of about 628 m above sea level, Bui Hui Steppe in Ba Trang commune, Ba To district, is one of the most beautiful steppes in Quang Ngai. In addition to the stretching green grasslands, the steppe also has myrtle hills of about 20 hectares wide, guava hills that are decades old, and rolling mountains stretching as far as the eye can see, according to the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union website.
The entire vast grassy hill area has no woody trees. On the edge of the steppe, there are a few ridges of shrubs that are slightly taller than a person's head. Below the grassy hill are terraced fields of the Hre ethnic people.

During the 45-day journey driving across the country from August 16 to October 9, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, 28 years old, from Soc Trang, and his family spent a night camping and sleeping in a tent in the middle of the Bui Hui Steppe.
From the center of Quang Ngai city, Mr. Minh drove a pickup truck for about 60 km to Ba To District. Then he moved more than 10 km along the mountain pass to reach Bui Hui Steppe. Although the road has been concreted, it is a hilly road with many bends and windings, so visitors should pay attention. The road to the steppe is dirty but flat, suitable for both motorbikes and cars with low or high clearance.
Coming to Bui Hui in early autumn, the whole hill is covered with the green of fresh grass. The hills are also lined with green trees, while the valleys are interspersed with villages. "A few clouds flying halfway below give the feeling of standing on the clouds," Mr. Minh said.
With beautiful natural scenery and a cool, fresh climate, Bui Hui Steppe is a favorite destination for many tourists. Located at a high location, this place has become a spot for young backpackers to hunt clouds, camp, and watch the sunset and sunrise. On these days when the weather is favorable, the sky is clear and a sea of white clouds appears halfway up the mountains and hills in the distance. "Not as majestic as Ta Xua or Ha Giang, the sea of clouds in Bui Hui Steppe has a more poetic and gentle beauty," Mr. Minh commented.
In the Bui Hui Steppe, there are not many tourist activities or services, so this place still retains its wild beauty. If you want to camp or rest overnight, you can proactively prepare your own belongings, rent a tent, or book a room from a number of nearby accommodations. You should choose a camping spot that does not affect the landscape when you build a campfire, and be careful to clean up before leaving. Tourists can explore the culture and cuisine of the Hre ethnic community living in Ba To District by watching the performance of three gongs that has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage or enjoying Tra River goby braised with pepper, grilled pork rolls, fish ball vermicelli, snails, crushed rice crackers, and Tinh Khe pancakes, Mr. Minh suggested.
Each season, Bui Hui Steppe has its own beauty. The third month of the lunar calendar is the time when the decades-old guava hills ripen. The fruit is as big as a thumb, attracting birds to eat the fruit. Around May and June, the purple color of thousands of myrtle flowers in full bloom spreads over an area of more than 20 hectares. This is considered the most beautiful and poetic time of Bui Hui Steppe. Cre: Quynh Mai Photo: Nguyen Ngoc Minh
