The tallest building in the world penetrates the clouds
The scene of Burj Khalifa (Dubai, UA‌E) through the clouds is like a perfect masterpiece, created from human hands and nature.
The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world until today. This tower was completed in 2010, has a total of 163 floors with a height of up to 829.8 m. This can be seen as a symbol of Dubai.
Many people often refer to the phrase "skyscraper" when talking about super-high-rise architecture. However, not many buildings can actually reach the concept of "trans-cloud" like the Burj Khalifa. Photographers still often capture the moment when the tallest building in the world is half-hidden in the clouds.
The question "Does Burj Khalifa penetrate the clouds" really makes many people wonder, though, numerous photos have proven this. The tower is 829.8 m high while the low cloud layer (C family) is created at an altitude below 2,000 m. When stratum clouds come in contact with the ground, they are called fog. Therefore, many people believe that the Burj Khalifa does not really penetrate the clouds but only appears in the fog.
Under the dim night lights, the Burj Khalifa looks like precious jewellery of Dubai.
Apart from the height, the total weight of the Burj Khalifa also surprised many people. According to statistics, it takes 100,000 elephants to equal the total weight of concrete used in the construction of the tower. Meanwhile, the total amount of aluminium used when building the Burj Khalifa is equivalent to 5 A380 aircrafts.
Moving to the highest floor of the Burj Khalifa is not as difficult as many people imagine. Elevator speed in this building is 10 m / sec. Thus, it only takes you less than 1 minute to reach the observation deck on the 124th floor.
Visitors to the Burj Khalifa must pay a ticket to go to the super high floors. Observatories on 124 and 125 floors are the most popular spots. You will have to pay about 60 USD / adult to get there at a beautiful time (16-18h). Regular time frame (9-15h30) is priced at 40 USD / adult. The 148 floor is the highest floor which allows visitors to get there by buying tickets. You need to pay 150 USD / adult at beautiful hours and 100 USD at normal hours
The highest floor (163) is not open to ordinary people. However, celebrities and some photographers and videographers may be given a special license to come here. Tom Cruise used to have a check-in picture on the 163rd floor of Burj Khalifa while filming the movie "Mission Impossible". Prince Sheikh Hamdan also caught attention when taking pictures on the top floor of the building in 2013.
The Burj Khalifa would have been displaced if the construction progress of Jeddah Tower (Saudi Arabia) was completed in 2020. However, this work was interrupted in 2018. The investor revealed that it might continue this year. The tower will be 1,000 m high when the construction completed. Source: zingnews #$gnal$#
