The Northwest Mountains in the season of changing leaves resemble the beauty of the European sky
The pristine ancient forests, like fairy tales coming to life during the autumn foliage, always beckon nature lovers to explore trekking and mountain climbing in the Northwest.
When mentioning the high peaks in the Northern region, most travelers think of Fansipan, also known as the "roof of Indochina." However, in addition to this well-known destination, there are many captivating trekking routes. First and foremost is Ky Quan San or Bach Moc Luong Tu, located 60km from Sa Pa. Photo: Luong Tuan.
"Coming here, you not only get to experience the feeling of hunting clouds but also witness the changing colors of the forests during the trekking journey to the mountain peak", Luong Tuan - a tourist from Tuyen Quang shared about his journey to conquer Ky Quan San.
Ky Quan San is a mountain stretching across the territories of Sin Suoi Ho commune (Lai Chau) and Sang Ma Sao commune (Lao Cai). According to many adventure seekers, this mountain began to attract mountaineers and explorers around 2012. Photo: Luong Tuan.
Beneath the canopy of red leaves, clusters of bamboos in the forest also stir the hearts of those who behold them. Photo: Luong Tuan.
Situated at an elevation of 3046m above sea level, Ky Quan San is one of the four highest peaks in Vietnam, possessing a diverse and highly difficult climbing terrain of Bach Moc arc, including various sections like forest trails, stream crossings, steep cliffs, and flat paths. It can be said that Ky Quan San is not a route for those with average physical strength or beginners in mountain climbing; it demands high health and endurance. Photo: Luong Tuan.

During this time, when young trekkers conquer Ta Xua peak, they also have the opportunity to witness the mountains and forests changing colors, with leaves transforming. Photo: Hieu Vu.
The route starting from Sin Suoi commune in Lao Cai is more popular due to its easy terrain and richer vegetation than the route in Lai Chau. The total distance from Sin Suoi commune to the summit of Ky Quan San is about 30km round trip. Photo: Luong Tuan. Source: Lao Dong Newspaper
