The best kept secret of Kerala if you ask me, is one of my absolute favourites and this floating cottage with that magnificent view and spell binding sunset is a must do. This was poovar island resort and a strong recommendation from me. It was my second visit to Poovar Island Resort and both the times the service was perfect. They also have Ayurvedic treatments of various duration (2/3/4 weeks) where you’ll be under the care of professional doctors and medical professionals that attend to your need. Be it physical or mental health, they provide extremely good care on that too. And even you just wanna go for a weekend and enjoy, this place is just the perfect getaway. When I had booked, the floating cottages cost me around 9k-10k per cottage. And we were 2 people so we cut the costs accordingly. And it was worth the money because once in a while everyone deserves to pamper themselves, right. To get here : you can take a train or flight to trivandrum. From Trivandrum an auto will take you till poovar for ₹5/600 . You’ll also get car and bike rentals in case you wanna explore around. Add kovalam and Varkala too to your trip when you visit Poovar.
