MUMBAI
“Home” is the primary connection between you and the rest of the world
-
You've probably seen the clichéd saying, "Home is where the heart is," plastered on the wall of a restaurant or in a friend's bedroom.
Yet for me, home is simply a whole, ethereal world where everyone and everything is just how you remember it.
When I travel, I start to wonder what home really is.
I realized that sometimes a home could simply be where your most prized possessions are.
Possessions like your favourite bedroom, or your diary. It could be your favorite shirt, your pet, or simply the people that matter to you the most.
The place you call home is where you've made some of your most treasured memories.
Perhaps it's not even a physical location? Nevertheless a mental disposition?
A mindset perhaps.
It has taken me a long time and a lot of seeking to finally feel like I've found my place.
Sometimes "home" is a setting where you may meet individuals from many walks of life, and learn about their experiences and perspectives.
A state of mind that stays with you no matter where you go.
There will be challenges and tragedies, but it is also a place where humanity and compassion have a chance to win out over indifference and apathy.
In the words of poet Robert Frost, "Home is the place that, when you have to go there, they have to take you in." In short, “home” is the primary connection between you and the rest of the world.
