Eight must-visit places in Rajasthan
Ever since I was a little kid, I have been fascinated or I should say beyond fascinated by the state of Rajasthan. It's probably the second most visited state in my life! The grandeur, culture, food, and vibrant colors attract not only me but thousands to this state. Every corner of Rajasthan is beautiful and worth visiting. But if you are short on time and are planning that epic trip to Rajasthan, then I would highly recommend including these seven cities on your list!
📌Jaipur The capital city of Rajasthan is like the getaway to what this beautiful state has to offer. From extravagant forts to beautiful architectural wonders, Jaipur should definitely be on your list. When it comes to exploring the best of Pink City of India my top picks will be Amber Fort, Patrika Gate, Hawa Mahal, and Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan.
📌Jodhpur The blue city of Rajasthan is nothing short of a wonder. With the Mehrangarh Fort overlooking the city, the historical capital of Mewar is one of the popular most destinations for tourists. If you are someone who loves shopping then this city is a must-visit. My top recommendations will be Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Pachetia Hills, and Madore Gardens.

📌Udaipur
This beautiful city is right out of a movie scene. The lake city of India is also known as the “Venice of the East“. With 5 major lakes and beautiful hidden gems, Udaipur will not disappoint you. Also, this city has some of the best luxurious properties you can experience in Rajasthan. My top picks will be The City Palace, Pichola Lake, Bahubali Hills, and Ryta Hills.
📌Ranthambore National Park If you are a wildlife enthusiast, Ranthambore should definitely be a part of your Rajasthan itinerary. It's one of the biggest national parks located in North India. The park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan and is about 130 km from Jaipur. One can indulge in Jungle Safari, bird watching, explore Kachida Valley, and lot more. The best time to visit Ranthambore is during the winter season.
📌Jaisalmer Going to Rajasthan and not exploring the desert is simply not an option. Known as the Golden City, Jaisalmer is the heart of the Thar Desert. From Desert Safari to camping you can do a lot in Jaisalmer. My top picks are Gadisar Lake, Patwon Ki Haveli, Kuldhara. During the months of January-February, the Government of Rajasthan organizes the Desert Festival where you can enjoy the rich and colorful Rajasthani culture.
📌Pushkar Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India. A favored destination for thousands of tourists and devotees, this place should definitely be a part of your great Rajasthan trip. From hiking to some beautiful temples to hot air ballooning, there is so much to do in Pushkar.
📌Kumbalgarh This famous UNESCO heritage site is a Mewar fortress located in the Aravalli ranges of Rajasthan and merely 2 hours away from Udaipur. The fort houses a tank and a few temples. Also fun fact, this fort has the second longest wall in the world after the Great Wall of China. A sight to behold! 📌Mount Abu For my mountain lovers out there, if you think Rajasthan is all about desert then you will be taken by surprise when you visit Mount Abu. This place will truly take you by surprise. I will be sharing a detailed guide soon. This place has taken my heart away!
So there you go, a list of all the destinations you should definitely cover on your next trip to Rajasthan. The beauty of this state is Unparalleled to any other state in India. There is so much to see than the above eight destinations, but you can definitely begin your journey with these cities. Hope you found this blog useful and it has inspired you to explore Rajasthan. ------------------------------ Love Rituparna
