From the end of December 2023, prunus cerasoides trees on the Dong Van Karst Plateau begin to bloom. Nguyen Sy Duc, a native of Bac Ninh, has been living and traveling in Ha Giang for four years. During that time, he experienced the beauty of prunus cerasoides flowers fully blossoming in numerous villages on the Dong Van Karst Plateau. The photo series of prunus cerasoides flowers was taken by him from the last days of December 2023 to January 8, 2024. The color of fresh pink in the sun, growing adjacent to ancient yin and yang houses, is an iconic image of Ha Giang's typical beauty. Tourists can admire this scene in Then Pa village, Lung Cu commune (shown), or at the Vuong Family's Mansion (King Meo's Mansion) in Sa Phin commune, also in Dong Van district, according to Mr. Duc. Visitors can also easily spot images of vivid pink prunus cerasoides trees when traveling on the streets of Dong Van town, Ma Le commune (shown), and Lung Cu commune. The majority of these prunus cerasoides trees grow and bloom naturally. The Lung Cu Border Guard station is currently the most visually appealing location in the Dong Van district. There are around 10 prunus cerasoides trees in full flower, so many people come here to check in and take pictures of the vibrant pink flowers blooming under bright sunlight. Along both sides of the road leading to Lung Cu Kindergarten, prunus cerasoides trees have also blossomed. Mr. Duc stated that "the picture of the northernmost part of the country becomes idyllic and close" due to the sight of carefree kids running, jumping, and playing under the prunus cerasoides trees. Ha Giang prunus cerasoides flowers have five petals, are pinkish, growing in clusters on branches. The tree loses all of its leaves before it flowers, and then green buds reappear after the flowers are almost completely faded. On sunny days with the blue cloudless sky, the pink flowers stand out even more.
