👽 Remember the 'aliens' that were unveiled in Peru in October?
Well, the Ministry of Culture has concluded that these three-fingered ‘humanoid mummies’ - found dressed in colourful lacy fabrics and sandals and presumed to be Machu Pichu and Inca in heritage - are in fact made out of synthetic glue, paper and other materials.
The “dolls” were discovered in a DHL warehouse in the Lima province of Callao, packaged up in a sponge-lined box and bound for Mexico.
Peruvian forensic scientist, Flavio Moreno, hailed the whole investigation as a “fraudulent spectacle” which is ruining the heritage of their country, while one of the panel agreed that they will be trying harder to curb illicit trafficking in the future.
