Modhera SunTemple 🌇 The Sun Temple (Surya Mandir) is a masterpiece of the Solanki dynasty. Just some of Sun temples exist today. One in #Konark the other in #Martand, the third here in Modhera and the fourth one in Suryanar Kovil at Kumbakonam Thanjavur District and etc. This east facing temple is the third largest. There is a huge tank in front of the #temple. At dusk during autumn and spring sunlight enters through the door into the garbagriha and lights up the main statue. A must visit when in Gujarat.
