📍Exmouth WA
So we found ourselves diverted to Exmouth because of the cyclone and what a place to end up. Such a stunning part of WA and we haven’t even ventured into the national park yet. We can’t wait. Today we explored the local area and loved checking out the ship wreck👌🏻 The SS Mildura was a cattle steamer, wrecked in 1907 during a cyclone. Most of the remains were salvaged and used for renovations and the hull was used for bombing practice in World War II.
The remains of the SS Mildura now rest only 80 metres from shore and are best viewed on a low tide. We also explored around the old navy base, which is considered a bucket list dive🤿🤿🤿🤿It is a working US naval base and you require a permit to step on the pier. Can’t wait to get back to Exmouth for when we had planned. Perfect little detour🙌🏻🙌🏻🌊🏕🏝☀️🐨
