The 3 days 3 nights trip in Cao Bang - The green pearl of the Northeast
Our journey departed from Saigon to Hanoi, played in Hanoi for 1 day, in the evening, we caught a car from Hanoi to Cao Bang City (Hiep Giang, Thanh Ly, Khai Hoan, Vinh Dung, ...) The price of a sleeper bus ticket is 350.000VND/way, departs at 9:30 pm at My Dinh bus station, and takes about 7 hours to the garage in Cao Bang city around 5-6 am.
🚗 Vehicles: You can find many car rental services in Cao Bang. We rented motorbikes at Eco Homestay Cao Bang and were picked up very enthusiastically. 10 scores for the quality of car rental service with full accessories and we could choose a helmet. Car rental price is from 180.000VND-550.000VND/day, depending on the type of car. We rented for 3 days. 📍 Day 1: Cao Bang City - Khau Coc Cha Pass (15 floors pass) - Bao Lac - Me Farmstay ▪ At first, we even planned to go to the Lung Pan bamboo forest, but we were reminded by the locals that the road was too far, so we left the bamboo forest, fortunately on the way to Bao Lac we met another nice bamboo forest.
▪ Khau Coc Cha pass is 86km from Cao Bang city, you follow the roads DT203, and DT204; Remember to turn on the gg map of the car road, otherwise, if you go to the motorbike route, you will be lost 2-3 times like us. ▪ The road passing through the Bao Lac area is as beautiful as the "Europe sky".
▪ Locating the Nong Van Ngoan grocery store right below the viewing point of the pass, we had to trek up, and we ate instant noodles to continue climbing. We walked for about 25-30 minutes, it was also quite easy, only from the rocky slope upwards, it was a bit tiring, remember to wear walking shoes and if it rains, you should not go because the road will be very slippery and easy to fall. At the check-in point, there is a family of an ethnic grandpa and his two very cute grandsons who sell water to make the road easy for us to go, so remember to go there to support him. ▪ Leaving the pass, we turned around and passed Me Farmstay, 58km from the pass, this is our place to go to Lenin stream and Coc Po cave. I really like the space of Me with the green river meandering around the distant mountains, bamboo groves, a small house, and a rose garden. At Me, you can go rafting, watch the sunset, etc. Dinner at Me is hearty with deep-fried stream fish, wild vegetables, wild chicken, sour bamboo shoots soup, pork and Me's specialty - Chinese sausages, drinking a cup of corn wine to warm the stomach is perfect. 📍 Day 2: Lenin Stream - Ban Gioc Waterfall After breakfast, we went to Lenin Stream, Coc Po cave, only 3km away from Me, very convenient. Tickets to the Coc Po area are 45.000VND including tram tickets. We went to visit the stream, where Uncle Ho lived and worked, etc. played until noon, we checked out at Me and then went to Ban Gioc.
▪ From Me, you take the shortcut that google map shows to the direction of DT210 road going straight through Ban Gioc, it is very convenient. The road just finished is very nice and there are no cars, easy to go, takes about 2 and a half - 3 hours to get to the place, saving a lot of time compared to the old road that turns around back to Cao Bang city.
▪ We stayed at Tay's homestay in Khuoi Ky stone village near Ban Gioc waterfall, so we went to the homestay to check in before resting and then going to the waterfall. Khuoi Ky stone village is also an interesting tourist destination to visit, there are many homestays in the village that I think are also very good, and the prices are from 500.000VND/room. In addition, you can stay at Lan's Homestay, Nasan Green Farm is also very beautiful.
▪ Around 3 pm, we went to Ban Gioc waterfall, 3km from stone village, Ban Gioc waterfall is a tourist symbol of Cao Bang, the main waterfall is exploited by both Vietnam and China, but the Chinese side is currently closed (maybe. due to the covid epidemic) so it is quite deserted, the waterfall is very majestic and stunning. It is said that in the afternoon China releases the dam, so the waterfall has more water and the sun is more enchanting.
▪ In addition, we also go paddleboarding at Nasan Green Farm, about 15km from the waterfall, about 30 minutes to go, and watch the sunset on the very romantic while rowing on the Quay Son river. The SUP price is 150.000VND/SUP /2 hours. In Nasan, there is also a lovely homestay and a restaurant, quite similar to the style in Me.
▪ In the evening, we have dinner at a homestay with familiar highland specialties, Chongqing region has more famous chestnut specialties, which you can enjoy at the homestay. 📍 Day 3: Nguom Ngao Cave - Co La Waterfall - Thang Hen Lake - Mat Than Mountain - Cao Bang City ▪ Because the homestay is near Nguom Ngao cave, we go in the morning, only about 1km away, and the ticket price is 45.000VND/old route, the cave also has a new route for those who like to explore the full cave, the ticket price is 195.000VND.
▪ Leaving the homestay, we visited Co La - a pristine waterfall located next to ripe rice fields, the scenery is also very bewitching. The waterfall is near Nasan Green Farm, so if you are here, you can combine rowing the SUP to the waterfall for convenience. ▪ From Co La waterfall, we arrive at Thang Hen Lake around noon, 66km from the waterfall, about an hour and a half if going by motorbike.
▪ After eating and resting, around 3 pm we went to Mat Than Mountain (God's Eyes mountain) to watch the sunset. The Mat Than Mountain, also known as the "Thung Mountain", is as beautiful as a miniature "Mongolia" with green grasslands. Here is the camping service of Mr. Loc Tran's team at Eco Camping, if you have time, you can choose to camp for 1 more night and it's also very chill. The best time frame is from 4 pm to 6 pm or in the morning
▪ Back to Cao Bang City about 23km away, we returned the motorbike, had dinner, and then took a bus back to Hanoi, completing the wonderful trip, it's lucky because the weather is good on every day of the trip. ▪ Cao Bang is glamorous every season because waterfalls and streams are usually not affected much by the weather. I even see many people going in the rainy season and it is still nice but the most beautiful is probably the ripe rice season between September and early October, the weather is cool at this time, easy to go.
And… there is not any camera as good as our bare eyes, so… experiencing it for yourself and seeing the real thing is always so much better… 💗 ----//----- Shared by Marine Poy #$gnal$#
