Sightseeing In Goa
Guide to the Best Sights in Goa As we mainly stayed in Vagator, sightseeing wasn’t top of the list in Goa. That said, we took a trip to Panaji for 3 days where there is great transport links to Old Goa! Here you’ll find some of the most historically rich places. Read on to find out sights not to be missed in Goa!
Chapora Fort Quite a sweaty walk to get to this fort, and we’ll be honest, the fort itself isn’t that great. However you will get some unbeatable views of Vagator from up here so the walk up is definitely worth it! Unlike most tourist attractions in India, this place is free!
Dona Paula Viewpoint, Panjim Panjim was our second stop in Goa, with a lot more sights to see/ great transport links to the best sights. Dona Paula viewpoint is lined with markets and a couple of bars, with the perfect view of the sea. A great place for a peaceful(ish) dinner.
Old Goa From Dona Paula you can take a 20 minute local bus for Rs. 20 into Panjim bus station, from Panjim bus station you simply hop on a bus to Old Goa which takes 40 minutes and is also Rs. 20, cheap and easy!
Old Goa is the old capital of Goa, jam packed with architectural history. Se Cathedral, dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, was built to showcase the Portuguese’s victory over an invading Muslim army in the early 16th century. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is the oldest church in Goa, and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Divar Island Walk behind the Se Cathedral, under the Viceroy Arch, and take the free ferry (only way to get there) across the river to Divar Island for some beautiful greenery and wildlife. Once you get off the ferry there is a long road leading to the centre, you can walk, or you can take the local bus.
Take a break from the party scene and get in some culture! We hope this help plan the sights you can’t miss out on in Goa! Let us know your favourites in the comments. Cre: Travel in our tracks

I haven’t travelled to India yet so I don’t know too much about where to visit, but this area looks beautiful and definitely worth adding to an itinerary!
