I hardly make breads in my kitchen, as much as I want to change that, I also love making this particular bread always!
This Irish Soda Bread is so flavourful, made with no yeast, is eggless and can be enjoyed in a thousand ways!!🥰
Ingredients:
🥖2 tablespoons vinegar
🥖2 cups milk
🥖2 cups whole wheat flour (aata)
🥖2 cups all purpose flour (maida)
🥖1 tsp baking soda
🥖2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
🥖¼ cup salted butter (melted)
Some tips while making the bread:
⚡️When you combine your milk and vinegar to make buttermilk, this mixture needs to sit for at least 15 minutes so that the milk and vinegar have enough time to react with each other, before getting mixed in with other ingredients.
⚡️When you’re mixing in the dry and wet ingredients, make sure to not overmix. Mix until the dough just comes together.
⚡️It’s a slightly sticky dough but don’t be tempted to add more flour than needed. Apart from in the dough, you only need excess flour to dust your surface and some for your hands.
⚡️Take care of the temperature because we are baking this bread at two different temperatures. First at 220 degrees celsius and then 200 degrees.
Happy Baking!!🥖
