Teeny tiny little volcanoes in the heart of Iceland.⠀
As amazing as it is to see something like this, I’m sure nothing compares to seeing one of these being birthed through an active eruption. Got to get to tick that off the list at some point. 📸 𝐣𝐚𝐜𝐤_𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐲

The new fissure, first spotted by a sightseeing helicopter, was about 500 metres long and about a kilometre from the original eruption site in the Geldinga Valley. Is it real? 🥰 A magnificent and massive canyon, about 100 meters deep and about two kilometres long. The canyon has sheer walls, and is somewhat serpentine and narrow. The bedrock is mostly palagonite from cold periods of the Ice Age and is thought to be about two million years old. Today river inside is often rather low in water and therefore hikers can safely choose to walk inside the canyon. 🎥 📸𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝
