Decorations and fancy interiors of the Grand Peterhof Palace in Saint Petersburg were made with one main reason in mind. The palace was meant to become a place for ceremonial events, diplomatic receptions and masked balls. It also demonstrated gorgeous everyday life of the court.

The "Kizhi" Open-Air Museum is one of the largest museums of the culture of Russian North. The collection of its exhibits will show you the museum's 76 unique buildings. Over the years of its existence the oldest wooden church of Russia - Church of the Resurrection of Lazarus, several chapels and over twenty peasant houses have been brought here.
